In the world of F2P RTS, its been lacking so to speak. However, EA has plans on making the next C&C F2P. The link provide was a interview done from mmobomb.com and it's a very interesting interview IMO.

Sounds like there doing a good job of a AAA F2PRTS. They said that there shouldn't be too much of a problem with any P2W elements. But this is EA who are ridiculous with prices on games if Origin is anything to go by, and saying no to a $60 purchase. Something's got to give.
They've run the series into the ground at this point and let down all the fans who had hoped for a decent C&C game, they have to release it as a f2p or no one would bother trying it. I actually did enjoy the first Generals and was a little happy to see they were making a new one, the screen shots and videos I've seen for it look great as well. I just can't bring myself to believe that they'll follow through.
EA has a bad track record with f2p turning into pay to win.
