Discussion of Politics and Religion in =VX9=

I never like to suppress freedom of speech* but in the interest of the overall benefit to the =VX9= community I feel compelled to remind folks that =VX9= does not allow discussions of politics or religion on our forums. These discussions have happened many times in the past and have always devolved into people getting angry with other people and members no longer feeling welcome in their home here at =VX9=.

Any attempts to discuss topics of politics or religion will be promptly removed to the Junk folder.

Offensive slurs, politics, religion, and piracy are the main things not allowed that I emphasize to all of my new recruits when I go over the guidelines with them.

Protecting the integrity of the clan is top priority and anyone who proves detrimental to it shouldn't be here.

When politics and religion are the topic of a discussion, it's not so much a problem of being a detriment to =VX9=. It's the simple problem that with those two topics, you could have just 2 people talking and still have 5 completely different opinions. And those topics especially have always tended to bring out the worst in people and caused them to hate other people that they didn't before the discussion began.

It's easier to just shut those down before they start.
